A BBB accredited charity is an organization that meets all 20 BBB standards for charity accountability, which address four themes: governance, results reports, finances, and truthful and transparent representations. BBB accreditation is independent confirmation that our key practices are trustworthy.

Candid is a comprehensive database of registered nonprofits that awards seals of transparency according to data from each nonprofit. Mercy For Animals first earned the platinum seal—Candid’s highest seal—in 2020 and has received it every year since. Of nearly 80,000 organizations with Candid seals, only 15% have achieved platinum status.

Charity Navigator is a charity assessment organization that evaluates hundreds of thousands of charitable organizations based in the United States.
